There is no dyno tuning shop anywhere around where I live... closest would be ARE about 4hrs away... so just wondering if it's possible to do a cam and intake and headers/ory without tuning, or to use my Predator to tune these?

What about doing a heads/cam package? Tuning needed there I'd assume? Also, if doing heads, would injectors and fuel pump need to be done also or stock ones ok?

 

Where are you located? There is a shop in Silver Lake, WI that does very good LS1edit tuning.

I'll talk to some of the guys near the border and see if they know of anyone in your area.

 

Tuning is needed for most head/cam packages. Your stock injectors and fuel pump will be just fine.

 

Awesome! Thanks I was thinking about putting on a used blower, and know I'd need injectors and pump for those, but wasn't sure on H/C setup.

 

You could also look into mail order tuning.

 

Mail order tuning just doesn't work worth a damn. You can get it close sometimes, but who knows if you're going to run into trouble. I've ran into cars that had the exact same mods but reacted in a bizarre way. The only way to correct those is to thrash on it and figure out the issue. You just can't do that through the mail.

 

I'd think a custom tune for my Predator would work much better then a mail order tune... and that way I get to drive my car in the meantime!
