Default cam for stock 241 heads

Im planning on doing a cam swap once this race season is over. Right now im running a 12.25 @ 106 i added long tubes and ssra hoping to hit 11's (mods in signature). What is the best cam for stock 241's that wont lose low end torque. Im looking to run 11.5's after the cam swap. Car is not my daily driver just a weekend warrior.

I would look for a custom spec cam in the high 220s intake and low 230s exhaust.

Search El Toro cam 230/230 XFI/XER 111+2

Many here have had great results with that cam. I bought one, but ended up selling the car, picked up another F-body that already had a TRex. I still plan on throwing it in my C5Z06 someday.

What kind of 60ft. time are you running? With a steeper rear end gear and a high 22x low 23x duration should get you into the 11's without killing your low end.

Def get comp xer lobes for good power...something about 228/232 or about that will have little to no power loss in low rpms

To the OP, there is no such thing as "best cam". Cams are designed/specked for a certain purpose and it is pretty much a tug of war. You can't have it all in one; but you can make a compromise and find happy medium.
The main 2 criteria in choosing a cam are IMO:
1- Budget
2- Being honest with yourself and deciding what is the best power range you need to achieve your goals.

Many of us usually think "best" as most hp, and look at peak hp numbers to base their choice.

That cam will do nicely in a Z06, mainly due to the exhaust system that complements the cam's valve events. It makes good midrange trq starting a 3000 rpm and is able to carry well into the rpms without falling off quickly. When I put it together I was after most gain "under the curve" since I DD all my rides, even my race warrior. So to me it was the compromise I was looking for.
I learned that while max peak hp looks good on paper, it doesn't guarantee winning at the races every time. Consistency and holding the highest average hp/trq in my operating range is what made those specs desirable for my needs.
The results speak for themselves and that cam is still amongst the top 15 quickest cam only setups (Chris1313), and has beaten many much bigger cam setups for dollar spent and mods done. All this and it is daily drivable, has nice lope a true cruiser.

If you are going to be staying on stock heads for a while then the el Torro or a revere split will do good. PM sent

well with the long tubes and ssra i cut a 1.56 60 and ran a 11.99 @ 111.4 im still debating on what cam to get im on a budget so a custom cam is looking to expensive. thunder racing and texas speed seem to have the best deals on cam kits. Thunder racing recommened the raptor and texas speed recommened the tsunami both seem to be huge cams. Car has 161,000 miles on it i dont feel comfortable spinning my motor to 6800 rpms even though it has good compression and no oil comsumption. I like the look of the TR230 236 and the tsp 233 239 both seem to be good sized cams but not extreme cams that need dual valve springs and alot of rpm.

get a cam that matches your converter.looks like you have your suspension working ,consider a cam that won't lose any torque in the lower rpms.

How much advance is ground into the cam? i dont know how long your trans is gonna last with 6500 rpm shifts, id lower the shift points down 300-400 rpm unless you plan on rebuilding it, then let it eat!

Also, how efficient is that converter? does it feel tight around town or really loose? and how much fall back do you have rpm wise per shift?

+4 advance i build transmission for a living if it blows ill build it to take it. ive driven high stall converters in most of my vehicles its doesnt feel like a 4k stall compared to peoples cars ive been in that had tci b&m hughes and others. Id say my rpms drop to 5000 to 5200 rpms between shifts

Looks like a lot more lift than those 241 heads can flow.
