looking for some DD cam specs
I have a ls6 out of a 06 ctsv and I'm wanting to put a cam in it. I want as much thump as i can get without destroying the drive ability and mpg. The car isn't a daily but it is driven a lot and far distances. Could you guys help me pick a cam.

Here are three bad *** cams from one of the cam masters, Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction. Any one of these cams would be great in a DD. You could always e-mail Ed about custom specking you a cam. The name of his company is Flowtech Induction. He's not a sponsor on here, so I can't put his website info or e-mail in this thread, but if you google it, you'll find it.

It is going into a 68 camaro with 6 speed manual with 3.73 gears. I don't want improvement in one area really. I'm looking for about 500 hp at crank and love the the old school idle so that is what I'm really after without killing the drivability

Somewhere within this range: 228(xer)/230(xer) 110+2 lsa, or 230(xer)/232(xer)110+3lsa. With the xer lobes you'll keep the lift a hair under .600" lift. If you don't mind going above .600" lift then a 230(xfi)/232(xer)110+3 lsa or 230(xfi)/230(lxl)110+3lsa, and a 230(xfi)/234(lxl) 110+3lsa.
You'll have from 9* to 12*valve overlap with one of these cams.

I would recommend you take a look at our 228R camshaft on a 112 LSA. This cam will provide a broad usable powerband but its got a noticeable idle that everyone is looking for. Typically with long tube headers and a decent cold air intake we are looking to make anywhere between 490-510 at the crank with that camshaft. There are a number of sound clips of that cam on youtube if you are curious as to how it sounds.
