Default High compression SBE experiment

Thought I would post up my build for some of you to check out. First off, I dont care if you think im an idiot for doing it, I dont give a **** if you think it wont work, so dont bother with the negative comments

Anyway I wanted to build a motor that I had been kickin around in my head for quite awhile, and if it didnt work I had no one to blame but myself. I did run it for a bit today and took it up to 6800 a few times and havent had any problems, but I know its ******* tight in there!

I had to pull the trans and had a light weep from the pass side headgasket, had most of the parts laying around so I went for it.

Removed the drivetrain

Pulled the heads

Then I stopped taking pics, phone went dead!

Flycut the pistons as far as I dared, about 0.130 intake and exhaust

Heads are ported 243s that have been MILLED .125 or so
224cc intake
78.5cc exhaust
46.75cc chambers
Brian Tooley platinum dual springs with Titanium retainers
Ferrea 6000 series valves
GM .051" MLS gasket
stock rockers with Comp trunion upgrade
7.300" pushrods with .042 preload
Ebay headstuds (awesome BTW)

Cam is a EPS 236/248 .615" on a 111+3 installed straight up. Piston to valve is tight as ****, I came in at about .035-.040 on the intake and .040-.050 on the exhaust.

Finished it up today and it works! compression is right about 13:1 and Im running E85 and have to use the LS1 intake till winter when it will get a vic jr and 4150 throttle body. Car also has BBK 1 3/4 headers and Borla adjustable catback. 104mm lid ported throttle body and 1-bar SD.

I just got it running and have to pull the trans again but will be putting up a vid shortly and hope to have it done again this weekend. Also will be checking cranking compression which will be pretty high my small battery has a struggle to turn it over now. Will keep this thread updated! feel free to ask questions

Best of luck!

Although I see some tech mistakes, I'm not gonna say anything since you so desire.
as you said, it works (so far).

I love high compression motors and e85. I've never built an LS that way but in other things i have had nothing but great results. good luck with your build.
