you might as well get a little larger cam, the ls6 cam can show a 20 hp increase. If you have somewhat stock exhaust you can run a larger cam than the ls6 and get a almost stock idle. MTI has a "sleeper" cam available.

For sounding stock, you can go with the LS6. Since you have LT's,
you'll see a pretty good gain.

BUT, you can go with an "old man cam" or "stealth" cam, from places
like TR or MTI, and they are going to sound close to stock and give
you a much bigger gain.

LS6 cam is a good way to go if you're looking for a decent gain, stock idle, while spending the least amount of money... it's a good cam if you're working on a limited budget.

With the LS6 cam, all you'll need to do is change to the matching '02+ LS6 springs... you can stay with stock pushrods, timing chain, oil pump, etc. and stock tuning.

The Lingenfelter GT2-3 is the king of the sleeper cams. You might want to look into that cam as well.

Yep, you can easily shift the LS6 cam at around 6400 rpms or so...

I hate when everyone says you will only gain 20 hp with that cam. Too many people only concentrate on peak numbers. You will have way more than a 20 hp gain at 6400 over the stock cam.

From what I hear the cam makes power over the LS1 from 3500 up to redline..I think you will be safe with 6400rpm.I asked someone who has a Z06 Vette, he said his car redlines at 6600, I need to get more input to see what redline is the best..If you have the extra money get the Pushrods that I mentioned above, It's extra insurance

I think you guys are forgetting about one thing, HOLLOW STEM VALVES!!!!! You have to remember that the ZO6 has hollow stem valves that allow it to go up to the higher rpm. If you use your standard LS1 valves with the Z06 springs, you should probably keep the rpm's at the 6400 RPM. That is the only way GM was able to go to that rpm with that cam.
Yes, the LS6 springs are better, but you have to remember that it is a package deal, springs, cam and valves.
You would probably be better off going with a sleeper cam from one of the mentioned companies because they use more duration and less lift. Hope this helps out.

so i would be safe redlining it at 6400 though right?? as long as i can get away with that redline without damaging the engine then thats fine. i dont think i would put it up to 6600. has anyone ever heard of anybody with and ls6 cam in an ls1 engine having any problems??
