Stock replacement LS6 pistons
I just got a "great" deal on a LS6 long block and because of how the deal went down and the dead flies, dog hair, and dirt from this hicks mobile home I tore into it. I found used head gaskets and bolts, the piston tops look good(were cleaned) but i rotated th engine and 3 cylinders have had rust in them that was cleaned out. I havent pulled the pan but i expect the worst. I am thinking it will need bored .010 to clean everything up. This is going into a stock Z06 that lost its shortblock to a valvespring. What pistons are out there that are closest to stock? I dont want something that is 120 each either. Thanks.

Mahle has some very affordable 4032 forged pistons that utilize your stock rods. They have a few bore sizes to chose from as well, and start at -4cc volume on their flat-tops.

I would absolutely rebalance. 2 different brands of hyperutectic pistons can have different weights and even if they were stock pistons it couldn't hurt.
