Do you have pics of the other pistons? Are there valve marks on them? This really sounds like a lack of PTV. Valves shouldn't drop on brand new heads. Or, how much did they mill off? What was the CR afterwards? Did you get it retuned for the higher CR?

Well after a few weeks of thinking what I should do I decided to go with a 408 iron block with all forged internals, I put the money down with the shop doing the build and it should be on the road with about 525 RWHP in about 4 weeks... the title of this post is very much so serving its purpose....

408 iron block
stage 3 ported LS6 heads
Fast 92 MM
Tick stage 3 tranny
Monster stage 3 clutch
Dana S60 rear end
Top Gun drive shaft
BMR adjustable torque arm
BMR relocation bracket
BMR adjustable LCA
BMR adjustable panhard
BMR weld in subframe
BMR front and back sway bars
Adjustable Konis
BMR lowering springs
TSP headers
borla exhaust
SLP grill
6LE headlights

the list goes on and on but after 3 years its finally ready, I worked so much overtime for parts and spent so many weekends wrenching but its finally done.... worth every second and every cent

Glad to hear that everything worked out. Sucks what happened to the first engine. Once you get a chance you should post up a video of it running, do a walk around, and maybe a few pulls.

I made 504 RWHP and 508 TQ, it is fully forged and 9.5:1 compression, I wanted to keep it lower so I can add boost later if needed. Next time I take her out I will take a few vids
