The casting numbers you're looking for (For a 5.3 head) are 852 or 706.
I'd spend a good hour on Google searching on "Castech heads". These are the ones to stay away from.

The point I was trying to make in the previous post was- and if I'm wrong, by all means correct me, be careful what you buy if it isn't from a vendor. Guys will sell you "low mileage perfect heads" when they are in fact cracked or prone to cracking Castechs. The bulletin I posted clearly shows the casting marks to STAY AWAY from.

Verdad Gallardo That's actually true. Some of the 243's and 799's actually came from 5.3 trucks. Hell, mine came from a 2010 Silverado.

well ur right i wanted to bump the compression up and heard 5.3 heads would do the trick i no the 243 r ls6 heads and 799 r truck heads then there r 706s and so on...i no the 706s arent the great heads if i were to put the 243's on with decking would it bup the compression?
