Default I believe the 7.350 pushrods are too long. (PRC 2.5 heads, 11:5-1, GM MLS gasket, 228

I just about got this bad boy bolted together, and despite telling Texas speed to hold the pushrods they sent me some 7.350 pushrods.

They appear to be too long if you as me, they aren't activating the valves, but there is resistance when I pull the rocker arm tip off the valve.

Anyways, I had them deck the head for 11:5-1 compression. I have stage 2.5 ls6 heads, ls7 lifters, 228r cam (.588 lift), and GM multilayer steel head gasket.

Of course I'm going to so my best to measure appropriately the length of the pushrods with the comp tool, but on average, what lengths do you guys usually end up going with?

so how much was milled? You should be good with a 7.375-7.400" pushrod if milled .030
For instance I run a 7.300 with .40 preload and my heads are milled .135" with a GM MLS gasket so there is no way you need anything shorter than 7.35

Set your rockers to 0 lash, then count the turns the 22ftlbs torque....recomended is usually 1 1/4-1 3/4 turn from 0 lash

I agree. I think 7.375" or 7.4" would be needed if your current ones are not activating the valves.

I had my heads shaved .010" and 7.4 got me in spec for preload on my particular lifters. If I had the later style lifters, 7.375" would have been better.

This is why they make checker tools (So these post don't keep coming up lol...)

FWIW mine are milled .020, stock gasket. I'm using 7.375 for ~.070 pre-load

And I did the adjustable pushrod method, with .080 preload I ended up with 7.355
