To mike Morris he asked what's the difference between ls6 heads and ls1 he didn't day what's the differences in ls6 heads I no they come on several vehicles even the new 5.3 motors have 243s

There is none besides the valves. And factory 243 heads do have a D-shaped exhaust port.

ok, while everyone is arguing about the 243s... can we get back to the 799s in the equation. what the differences between these two heads?

Made in a different place and some say has more casting flash than 243. Same head.

so if i got some 799s and polished them and maybe port then, it would be a good budget investment right? im going to be boosting my ls1 with 8lbs of boost rear mounted. keeping it a simple budget build.

You could get some 317s pretty cheap, lowers the compression a bit, work well for fi
