Adjustable rockers?
Hey im rebuilding a 1998 ls1 for my '68 camaro. I am ready to adjust my roller rockers. Im reading about holding the push rod while adjusting? I cant get my hands on them. If i take the slop out of the roller is that the same? Also my lifters are new to, so how does that change setting the preload? I dont want to put too much on them.

If you take your time you can feel when you have the rocker at 0 lash by rocking and shaking it back and foryh as you tighten the bolt.....once you get it to 0 lash count the turns to torque.....should fall in the window of 1 1/4-1 3/4 turn from 0 to torque.....if you need to turn it more you pushrods sre too long and if you can't turn it as far your pushrods are too short...either way if too long or too short they need to be replaced with the correct length pushrods.

I did what was said to do. Then i rotated the engine a few times by hand and when i checked, some of the rockers were slack again. Do i adjust the ones that got play again?

Stud mounted are a little more complex because they not only set preload but at the correct preload they must also provide the correct geometry (wipe) on the valve stem.
I assume these rockers use guide plates like the Cranes.
Do you have check springs and an adjustable pushrod?
Does Comp recommend a length for these rockers, doesn't sound like they do.
