Solid Roller guru's inside please
Current setup:
382 stroker with LS6 intake, GTP SII heads, Long teubes with true duals, etc.
Now for the point at hand, I would like to go with a solid roller setup and am looking for some advice for a good cam to run with N2O. Not really worried about streetability at this point, just performance.
All help is appreciated.
PS the car is a A4 right now, planning on going to an A3 though.

Your best bet would be to get in touch with one of our sponsors that have experience with solid roller setups.
Solid roller cams don't quite "spec" out the same way as a typical hydraulic roller. Besides coming up with some basic lift/duration numbers, you will want to put a lot of thought into the specific lobe profile, and how that will work with your current/proposed valvetrain components.
Thunder Racing and Futral Motorsports have been doing a lot with solid roller cams lately, so I'd start there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I have done alot of research on this topic. As a matter of fact I ended up having custom parts made. I'm involved with a tool & die shop. If you are interested I can put a package together that will work with stock valves and giudes.
The package includes:
Custom springs
Custom spring ID locators(Bottom)
Retainers
correct spring seat cutter
Springs are double springs with an installed hieght of 1.800. They coil bind at 1.060. With .060 clearence they will support .680 of travel. They have 225 lbs on the seat and open is 515.
The only machining required is to have the seats cut with the included cutter and to have the guides cut down .100. This is to have adequete clearance between retainer and valve seal.
Locator is designed to work with LS1 Seals. Not LS6 type.
Theses springs are special since they are small in Diameter. They will not break into port of an LS1. The LS6 is very close. The Id locators are a slip fit on the guide and are heat treated A2 steel. The id locators and springs are the key.
Otherwise to use traditional off the shelf parts(Comp,Crane,Lunati,Manley,Isky,Crower,Ferea, we checked them all)you will have to change giudes, use a traditional 11/32 stem, and because of the large od springs (1.57) shim up the spring and run longer valves.
If all this seems foriegn to you call a vendor and buy a set ready to go. They have thier own way of crosing the river.
