If running a "tightly" milled head and big cam, please come in..
As all builds start, this was supposed to just be a head/intake swap. Well, I have just received calls about side-jobs so it looks like a little more money is coming my way..
I just bought a set of Patriot stage2, 243's milled to 59cc. My current cam is a 224/230 Comp with .581 i/e on a 114. I've never been totally happy with the idle of the car but love the low-end the smaller cam gives. I'm starting to really think about swapping cams while I'm in there, one that is on my mind pretty heavy is the MS3. Everyone who has it seems to love it..
My question is for you guys who are running similar milling and bigger cams, how much did you have to fly cut?? People were already telling me I was going to be tight with the Comp. I understand that I will have to check clearance, thats not a problem. I just don't know how much effect a head milled to 59cc is going to have with a cam this size. Thanks ahead of time..

I'm gonna be running a cam similar to the MS3 and I was told by a few people that with milled 243s and a thinner head gasket to flycut .080 intake and exhaust. I'm in the market for some tools do do it myself so if you wanna split the cost and share the tools let me know.

Pretty sure I've read that Patriot used to sell 59cc LS6 heads that were actually 317s with welded up then recut with the smaller chambers. There's a chance these might not have been milled to hit that chamber size. Worth looking into.
