replace ls2 rod
Now the piston pin bore in the pistons themselves are machined offset. Again, all 8 factory pistons are the same due to lack of valve reliefs, but as long as the piston dot (for front) is aligned to the front of the engine, there will be no issues.
So in a stock LS1, LS2, etc: All 8 new OEM pistons and rod assemblies can be swapped around in any cylinder, they will all interchange. Bearing tangs to the drivers side, piston marks to the front, easy references.
If I have to replace a rod, does it need to a rod from the same side.like a gen 1 sbc where the oil holes for the cam are directional. Or can I just buy a rod and go. If this isn't.ear I'll have to get pics lol
