Mobil 1 filters are pretty good, just get the Wix or NAPA (1522) next time for the longer filters if you want "slightly better filtration."

I like the K&N due to the welded on Nut.

BTW my oil pressure (2002 WS6 T/A, near 60K miles, Heads and Cam, Melling High Volume Oil Pump w/low pressure spring, 10w 30 Pennzoil Platinum, same values for German Castrol)

Cold Start 60(ish)
Warm 40 (ish)
WOT 70-80

Yep same here.. I get paranoid very easily with my car lol. I might just get a m295 melling.

What the hell are you talking about? Low oil pressure is generally caused by wear. Excessive clearance between a bearing and the item it is for, such as a crankshaft of camshaft, will cause a drop in oil pressure. Your crankshaft does not ride on the bearing, it rides on a film of oil forced between it and the bearing. The more clearance you have between those two items, the lower your oil pressure will be. "Race" motors are typically built looser, which is why they need high pressure/high volume pumps. If you have **** in your oil large enough to "block the flow", you have bigger issues than low oil pressure.

I just installed an LS3 in my HD and cold idle is 40psi, HOT idle is 20 psi. I used a M295 pump with 2 shims. It is 98* in Houston right now with a Heat index of 106*, so I am hoping that is attributing to my low idle pressure.

Oil Pump leaking will cause low pressure. As soon as I changed my pump with New seals my pressure went back up, on my old car.

I just finished pulling my pump and pickup. I found the stock spring in the Melling 10295 pump was bent and almost broken. I took out the spring from my stock LS3 pump and it was at least twice as stiff as the Melling spring and thicker. I stuck a .100" shim back in with that spring and I now have 40psi hot idle. 65psi when revving.

It sits a hair over 40 psi at idle, 60 at cruising (2000ish rpm), 80 at WOT. Those are all at operating temp. Stock motor at 95k miles using Mobil 1 for about 70k of those, then switched to Castrol Syntec (made my lifters not tick as much).
