If you admit you had a dumbass moment buying the ms4 than sell it. It is not a cam for a 346 motor IMO. Get something in the 230's duration .625 lift area. Its not hard to sell a brand new cam. You're going at this the wrong way and it seems like you're to hard headed to listen to the advice from people on here.

I have the MS3 and love the sound but I have to rev the **** out of it to get it to go. I have the terminator heads, fast 92/92 ported, etc... I like the TSP torquer 3 or vengeance racing VRX 5. A big cam is not a cheap mod bc you need many other parts to make it efficient.

The MS4 cam is a max effort cam. The words Max effort mean more than the cam install. That cam is just not for a quick cam swap on an otherwise stock motor. Sell it to someone who can use it, and buy one that you can use.

I am glad I researched cams like the Tsp torquer v2 and the tsp 228R. Im happy I stayed away from the magic stick cams for my street car.

If he reads all these comments and still is to hard headed to get a smaller cam I'm not even going to feel bad when the engine/tranny blow. People get the biggest cams they think they can fit in the engine and than are so horribly dissapointed when baby cammed cars pull them. Once again won't feel bad when that happens.... Good luck with that ms4 cam

"too hard headed" as in excessively hard headed. Otherwise "to hard headed" would be directing him to it.

I thought the ms4 cam was designed to be a "max effort" cam for a 346? Granted the cam might not be ideal, but if he is building another shortblock, then who cares. I say through it in there, and if you don't like it, then sell it and get a new one.

Also to the OP, do a search. This cam has been out for a long time and there are tons of threads on this cam.

IF you go with the ms4 you will need this before installing IMO

1.Full bolt-ons intake and exhaust-$1k
2. Built transmission by Flt or alike-$2k
3. Atleast replace connecting rod bolts with arp bolts-$200ish
4. A double spring good to .675 lift. $300
5. Hardend pushrods-$120
6. Check ptv clearance
7. A good dyno tune or street tune-$400

This is just a basic list and alot else will be needed.

This is exactly what I was referring too earlier, also add in a 9 inch or 12 bolt. Valve springs have to be changed every so many miles not sure the specifics but know it has to be done.

I had an MS3 and loved it. It really needed a 4000+ stall and 3:73s to perform like it was intended too.

MS4 is suppose to better, but I have no real world experience with them. A local shop installs quit a few MS4's I believe.

Personally I probably wouldn't put an MS4 in a 170k motor and trans upgrade seems wise.

Go for it, should run hard.

My opinion, that cam is trash for a street setup. It is all a gimmick and has no R&D behind it. Even Comp should not have released those lobes unless for race only applications. LSK lobes are simply a disaster.

FTW. I'm a former MS3 user and I found CAMAHOLICS for my problem.
