Hey guys...I am also trying to configure a flat plane crank engine...but going old school...sbc 283 , 2.6" stroke, 3.915 bore .. trying to find out who can make the crank...Lunati wants $2500 for a cam!!! thats got to be wrong... I am going to call Bryant Cranks www.bryantracing.com and see if they want to tackle it...I know the 283 can turn up...poor mans dz 302 would turn 9 grand all day long.. my build is going in a 74 914 that will weigh in at 2200 ... any ideas other than what I already know"it will cost too much" ?
I love the sound of a flat plane!

Probably cheaper to buy a 5.2 Ford Voodoo out of the first wrecked Shelby GT350
Or wait on the crate motor...
On a side note the 2015 526HP Flat plane 5.2 Voodoo made LESS rwhp than the nearly decade old 505HP LS7 and of course was absolutely dominated in the torque department at all RPMs. http://www.motortrend.com/news/dyno-...nd-camaro-z28/

Of course, you put just a cam and headers in the LS7 and it would pull away from the Voodoo motor and that's not a horribly priced combo.
Is the Voodoo motor as unphased by cam(s) swap as other DOHC Ford motors? Are you gaining 20-30HP for all that work? Seems like it's pretty close to tapped out with 13:1 CR and 8500 RPM, but who knows.
