Either set will "most likely" send them out of round.

This is why it is definitely the best measure to have them checked out anytime you do this, no matter what bolt...

you might not be able to read it but you sure as hell can watch it

But on a brighter note , i did it in the car and the motor was fine . 428 to the rear wheels every year for 4 years in a row now.

I also know that I'm not the only one who has experienced this, so saying "one set will most likely not make them out of round" is false information.
I will consider that argument. It's clean and has supporting statement without an end all absolute. (and no swear words)

Well done.

Hmm. Also good to know. I ended up with around 45-47ft lbs (tested after using stretch method) on my ARP's

On a side note, these were all properly stretched. I believe that one set would have fallen in spec if I wouldn't have stretched them, but just torqued them to spec. Who knows. I agree it is best to check each set and not do them in the car.

Fwiw I have 750 miles so far with Katechs and no problems. Has anyone had a motor blow with them?

I've used (replaced while motor in car, one bolt at a time, no cap removal) 3 sets of katech bolts. 3 different motors and none had failures due to bearings. In my 01 camaro, they lasted 70k miles at 6800 shifts. (until a nitrous spike took #5 & #7 pistons out).
Maybe I just had good luck with them, I dunno.
