Simple really...You've got a larger runner that is as cast. You have it CNC ported to 225-230cc, have a CNC program done for the chamber and you've got a CNC 220 that has a slightly larger runner with the same size valve. It will allow for more air mass to enter the engine while keeping nearly the same port velocity since you haven't hogged out the runner too bad. The AI 230cc 243's with 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhaust are a great example of this. 230cc runner with a smallish valve creates great velocity(develops more mid-range and low-speed torque) and creates more CFM flow without killing the low and mid lift flow which directly correlate with low speed and mid range power.

With the right cam timing you can take advantage of all of this tremendously.

Here is a dyno graph of a 346 that has a Fast 102 LSXRt manifold, CNC 220cc TFS heads(were once as cast), 2.04 turned down LS3 intake valves, our Polluter V1 camshaft installed 3 degrees advanced IIRC, 1x7/8" headers, 11.9:1 CR(fine to run with a cam the size of the Polluter as the dynamic is kept in check), 4" intake tubing, Chris 1313 ram-air etc...mainly most of the supporting mods.

We couldn't put them on there because "technically" they don't exist.

You would have to already have a set of as cast 220's or buy a set brand new and then have TEA, Brian Tooley, AI or the head porter of your choice port them for you. You don't have to use any of those three, those are just my picks.

Any idea of what they would charge for such a service? I'm looking at redoing the top end of my 382 over the winter, and I'm sold on the Trick Flow heads.

They are only a few munites from my house, I guess I know where I am going when I want to do the build, unless you are free for a few days lol

Stryder - Do you happen to know what head gaskets were used and if the pistons needed to be flycut?

Mike I would call Phil@AI, Mike@TEA and Brian and see what each one wanted for their services.

Brian did the porting on the 220 heads I showed the dyno graph of.

Sorry for hi-jacking stryder's awesome results thread.

i can tell you that i used stock replacement mls head gaskets and i did not have to flycut with my setup, that doesn't mean you won't have to measure to be sure.
