Ls1 bare block
Not sure if this is the right section for this ?
What does a used bare block go for?
Used ls1 crank that needs to be turned bc of spun rod bearing?
853 heads?
Anybody with some prices please lmk.
Thanks!
Sorry if this needs to go somewhere else

Im going to disagree to those prices. The block used is around 250-300 tops unless its an ls6 block. Crank is around 50 tops needing turned. As for the heads, good luck getting even 75 for them.
Naturally you are going to like the other stated prices but the reality: is the money still in the ls1??? YES! but people want something that needs no work. Not parts.

Buying used aluminum blocks seems kind of risky to me. If its an older block with the thinner liners (97-98) it can only be honed a couple times before they are junk. If it has 250k miles on it and the cylinders are egg shaped a torque plate hone might be all it takes to break through.
Before I bought any used ls1 block Id determine what year it is and mic the cylinders first. Then if all that checks out you still need to look real good for cracks. I ended up just buying a std bore lq9 block for my build.

Used ls1 blocks around here are going for 200 or less. I've never seen a used bare block go for more than a couple hundred. Hell, I'm sure there is a complete short block for sale right now for 600 or less.
And I agree buying used aluminum ls1 blocks is a risk. The older blocks can only go .005 safely and 00 up can go .007 safely. It's tough to find a good ls1 block which is why most people pony up for the iron blocks or Ls2 block,.
