Default Thinking of a 231/237 cam

Currently running a 224/228 cam but was thinking of running a 231/237 cam instead. The car is an A4 with a 3800 stall, stage2 heads all that stuff. Any opinions on this. The car is driven 3 times a week as well. Mostly for fun on the street some rare track visits. I also use a TNT 150 shot as well. Is it worth it to switch?

It will definitely be a worthwhile switch. We picked up 17 RWHP with our 231/237 over a 224/224 XE-R camshaft. I ran a 225 HP shot of nitrous on the 231/237, and it responded VERY well. I ran the 231/237 in my '02 SS A4 on a daily basis with no problems, and I also was running a 3,800 RPM stall speed torque converter. I did not have ANY stalling, surging, etc. issues. It's all in how well the car is tuned.

Feel free to give me a call or e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any other questions.

Sounds like it might be worth my money to make the swap. Hopefully all goes well.

I would recommend the 231/237 cam. I have it. It sounds wicked at idle. Once I get my tuning right it will be a beast.

I just made this switch from a 224 228 to the 231 237. And so far I'm very happy. Will be going to the dyno hopefully tonight.
