Default ls7 lifter height vs stock ls1 lifter height

Are both lifters the same height? Or if i replace my lifters with ls7 lifters will i have to change pushrod lengh?

Also, can you tell a difference in a ls7 lifter and a stock ls1 lifter by looks?

You should measure for pushrod length to be sure. But I needed to go with 7.350" pushrods when I swapped LS7 liters in. Others will say you can use stock length pushrods.

Alright thanks man. Also, going from a 853 head to a 243 head. Will that require a different size pushrod or should I just measure to double check and use stock pushrods?

Well my car already has a aftermarket cam that came in the car when I bought it. And I don't know the specs. That's why I was wondering if I need to change pushrods with the head change.

You don't have to, but it is highly reccommended as well as aftermarket springs but I'd deff chenge them both if there not upgraded and you should have the springs checked to make sure there still good

If you look at the body of the two lifters side by side they appear to be the same height, but look at the top of them side by side. The seat that the pushrod sits in is slightly more shallow in the ls7 rocker. Don't take any of our reccomendations for granted. Check the length and possibly save yourself a motor.
