Default .125" pre-load on ls7 lifters

What affect will running .125" preload have on my valve train? I measured with a pr length checker and thats what I'll end up with using my 7.400 pushrods. Also my lengths vary so .125 is the heaviest preload. Some lifters will end up at .100"

Thanks for the reply badazz81z28. I really haven't got much other advice about preload. Jake at TSP told me between .040" & .080" but I've seen guys running as much as .100." I'm gonna go ahead and order 7.350 pr's to put me where Jake recommended.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^LS7s typically work with less preload than old LS1s

.050-.060 is what we set them up with here at the shop, but we've run as much as .080 with no issues.

I've run up to 0.100" without issues, but went with 7.325" pushrods to average 0.075". 0.125" is too much IMO.

thats alot, I wouldn't run that for a long time. Did you check how much preload you have until the plunger bottoms out? You will crack the lifter body, or have plunger, and wheel problems if it runs like that.
