Looking at getting all the little things for the build.......While I'm not near the motor which sucks but was wondering if there was anyway to decode the motor with visually from being pre 03 to post 03 got pics of various parts of the car....



Maybe the pistons will tell I know there is a difference between the 03 to 04's if I'm not mistaken



Guess I didn't have the pics I thought I had but the Knock sensors are on the top cover as well not sure if thats a give away but I thought those were changed as well.......Looking at buying head bolts and need to know this info first sucks living away from your project...........

those rods are the old style. My '04 LM7 engine had the new style rods. maybe that will help you determine the year.
