Default Fast 90 Intake

Does anyone know if you can purchase a new bottom shell for the Fast 90? I think that I may have a small crack in mine. I would hate to have to go another route for such a small problem.

Thanks

Is it the same shell as a FAST 92? Since they are back in production, maybe, but I suspect the replacement cost would be close to a new intake.

the only difference (from what i am aware of) is the upper shell, and the hardware that keeps the intake together. they used stainless steel bolts and made to opening 2mm bigger, then stamped 92mm next to the FAST logo. the shell should fit the same, i think Thunder Racing sells them.

The intake can be repaired with JB Weld as long as you aren't repairing the Grand Canyon of a hole.

From what I read they used to sell it all seperately but I haven't seen any around in a long time. I purchased mine used and only saw 1 small dimple on the bottom and 5 other spots where the bolts just touched, figured no problem I can fix it. I bought it, opened it up and there were 6 cracks. I decided to fix it. I washed it out really good w/ soap and water and used Dawn dish soap since thats what they clean oil off animals, them used a really strong 2 part epoxy that can be used on fibergalss and metal. Cleaned out the cracks, filled them in and sanded smooth. A day later they seaped, so I cleaned it out and it did that a few times. Had to r-clean the cracks out and I reccomend brake clean to remove all oil.

Then to be safe I added extra epoxy on the bottom at the bad spots to gaurentee that it wouldn't crack anymore. I am 100% confident after seeing how strong the material was before. In the end I realize I paid too much, and to top it off, Fast announced they were comeing out again 2 weeks later

The 90 is the same upper as the 92, just the throttle body opening is smaller. I opened mine to 92 w/ a hone when I ported the intake. The new 92 is nicer because at the snout they have the brass inserts for the throttle body instead of the older design. I would like to get a new upper 92 just because of that since the front throttle body fitment sucks and I can see you snapping part off when tightening the throttle body since their o-rings are a horrible fit. If Ido that I may as well replace the bottom to, unfortunatley I cannot get what I paid for out of it, but with the work I did, it is as strong as new and I will keep it. If your cracks aren't as bad as mine, just fix it yourself and save your $$
