Default stroker PCV system.

how are you stroker guys running PCV systems? I have a lot of crankcase pressure, and I think it's because of the way my tuner made me set up my PCV system.

This is a real damn nice picture i made in paint for you guys to see how it's set up... there's a T that holds the two valve cover lines together, then a T goes to that T, then connects to my valley cover and then to my catch can. I had to put a cap on the nipple on my air intake tubing, as well. Then he had me put a breather on my catch can, but I removed the breather, and ran a line from the catch can to my intake and it made the car run a world better. I'm thinking that if I were to set this PCV system up better (not ruling out a vacuum pump), I could make the car run a lot better, and increase power.

Ridicule this setup if you want - my tuner wouldn't do it until I eliminated my PCV system, as "a car like this shouldn't have a PCV system. Remove it and I'll tune your car"

What do you guys think I should do differently? Any input is welcome.

Im in for this too. I'd look for a new tuner also. Everywhere I read, pcv systems are beneficial.

I already am looking for a new tuner. Should I run a line from my air tube to my p/s valve cover, cap the d/s valve cover, and put a line from my intake into the catch can, and from the catch can into the valley cover, and just deal with blowby?

I couldn't pull enough pressure out if the crankcase. I had to get a vacuum pump.

Plus, your tuner is a ******* retard. Blowing up your first motor wasn't enough motivation to fire him?

If you dont run a pcv system then you should have a crossover tube to both valve covers, and a breather cap on each side as well.

At least thats how people used to do away with them on ls1 cars....

Without a PCV system you're asking for multiple oil leaks. Vacuum pump would be the best, creating a vacuum condition in the crank case helps ring seal a lot, just look at all of the race motors running low tension rings, it's a must.

I dunno of they are a MUST but certainly wont hurt. Vacuum pumps are like $700+ thats more than i can afford at the current time so I guess me and a few others will be sticking with pcv

With low tension rings they are a MUST. CVR has 2 different ones and they are way less than "$700" and only draw 6 amps max. one for $300 one for $500+ just sayin.....

Are they good quality? Do they pull the proper amount of vacuum?

Hmm did a quick google on those crv pump they seem hit or miss between having the *** to pull that vacuum and not lasting but that was only a quick search and glance.

Anyone else running an electric vacuum pump want to chime in?

Any update on what you decided to do? I'm also tying to figure out what system to run.
