Should I mill my 5.3 heads? I just got a set of the 5.3 heads. I'm doing a stock rebuild of my LS1 with Diamond forged pistons to handle the NOS 5177 kit.
The 5.3's are a stage 1 port job. Do I just want to bolt them on or should I mill them. How much should I mill them?

I wouldn't mill them. I believe the 5.3 heads on an LS1 will raise the compression about half a point as it is. What size valves ado they have (I assume not stock because those are smaller than stock 5.7 heads)?
Where are they from?

When I was going to use my 5.7 heads, the builder said I needed to mill the heads to get back to the stock compression. This was due to the new forged pistons dropping the CR a little. So he said that milling the 5.7's .003 would bring it back to 10.1
