If my compression is 8.5:1
Will it pass smog in cali? What if I have a stage 2 heads and a 224 cam on a 114 lsa?I want to see if I can add a p1sc super charger on it in the later future, but I have to rebuild it now so what do you guys think. What about if its stock other then the lower compresion ratio?

#1 Why would you want 8.5:1 compression for a P1SC that needs to pass smog? 8.5:1 is an incredibly low compression ratio for a LS1 forced induction application. The flame front gets extremely strange below about 9.25:1 and you will lose a tremendous amount of torque.
If I remember correctly, you can only legally run about 5psi under the CARB certification guidelines. At anywhere from 5-7psi, I would stick with the stock compression ratio. You'll keep your torque and still be very safe under boost.
As far as your cam selection goes, you can go with a sleeper cam with a wide LSA and make very good power at that boost level. You should be able to get into the mid 550s at the tire without much issue.

Yup. It will run like *** on 5psi though.
