lq9 oil pump functionality?
I'm wondering if it's possible to run the stock lq9 oil pump/timing chain set up with a cam swap. The cam is the TSP 233/239 in a bored .030 lq9 with ls3 heads. Basically just wondering how necessary it is to upgrade to a double chain/ported pump of some kind. The pump, timing chain/gear, and engine, only have about 3k on them since the rebuild.

Yeah, that's more less what I was thinking.. What would be a safe RPM range to keep the motor on with that set up? I was debating going with the ARP rod bolts for a little extra spin but I don't want to jeapordize breaking anything. I'm really in all honestly looking for 6500+ but not over 7000 rpm. The lifters, pump, chain, and gear were all replaced in the rebuild. But if needed for such revs, I'll just go ahead and upgrade to a ported pump and ls2 timing set up.
