Default 408 stroker build. Hows this look?

TSP built 408 stroker
FAST 92/92 setup
Speed Density tune (no MAF)
PRC 237cc heads
Morel Link Bar lifters
10.5:1 compression
PATG spec'd custom cam (something that works well for an M6 street car)
TSP 1 7/8 Long tubes
ORY
Magnaflow catback with 3" electric cutout

through a 10 bolt rear with 3.42 gears and a T56

I'm looking to make 500rwhp or more on a Mustang Dyno with the setup above. Anyone think these parts will get me there? I haven't started buying the parts yet but I plan to within the next 1 - 3 months.

The compression is at 10.5:1 because I may plan on putting a blower on the car later down the road.

Gonna need a rear end eventually which you probably already know, looks like a pretty good motor setup though. If you were staying all motor I would bump it up to 11.5:1 range but If you plan on adding a blower you might want to think about keeping it in the 9.5:1 area unless you have extremely good fuel in your area, even then you'll need meth with that much compression to control detonation.

If it were me I would just build a high compression 408 and spend the blower money on a good 9", s60 or 12 bolt and have fun with it. Should make an easy 500rwhp, awesome throttle response and be more than enough for the street.

I'm comfortable with 10.5:1 compression + meth for a blower car. It has been done many times before. Just need to put in a different cam that lowers DCR.

More compression even if I add a blower? I do not have E85 in my area man.

Yeah, I know I will need a new rear end sooner or later. Maybe I will build a high compression 408 for now with the 9" rear and then add a 150 shot to keep me happy. Then if I want to do the blower thing down the road I can just put on a set of heads to lower my compression down a bit.

hrmmm... decisions decisions.

I think you'll get really close to 500 with the right cam. I'd say to not get a blower cam now. Enjoy the motor for what it is, then slap the blower on and re-cam it. it'll be more fun all around.

if you know for sure you are gonna blow it, then dont add anymore compression, in fact you may want to back it down depending.

but if you know that you arent gonna spend another 5k+ of FI then mill those heads and get it up around 11:1

I think you should spend the difference on an aluminum block.

Leave the heads alone and spray it to the HP level you want. Another half a point of compression will be good for another 3% max. I'd keep it at 10.5 and know you can get fuel anywhere in the country and put an extra 25hp more spray to it...

I knew you were going to say that. I might be able to swing a LS3 stroker. I'll know for sure in the next month or two. Car will most likely be heading down your way within a few months regardless of what motor goes in.

I can tell you almost exactly what it will make...this is my startup dyno that had a collapsed #8 exhaust lifter..

Not bad! What dyno was used? I wonder if the collapsed lifter was causing any horsepower loss.
