Take the proper steps for the valvetrain. New ls2 timing chain and ported oil pump and go nuts.

No. Once the timing cover is off, you can get to the oil pump. That's why it's a recommended upgrade. You have to remove it and the timing chain anyway. And 107k miles isn't bad.

I cammed mine @ 120k and it was practically married to the bottle before I got it. As long as its been maintained it should be fine.

Haven't really looked at any of them yet. the car is a DD though so I'm gonna need something that doesn't change the driveability too much.

Try a TSP 228r.... I like mine and is very good for a DD. I run low 12's with it. A lot of people sell cams here but you can talk to TSP too and get great advice.

and I agree... 107k miles is no big deal.

Yea I cammed my stock motor at 135k, I wouldn't worry about it. If anything it may help it, I think my valvetrain was worn out. It made all kinds of sewing machine noise before the cam swap and was quiet after.

If you want a nice driving cam that'll make power, get the cam I have. It's an EPS 230/234 .600/.612 114+2. If you have stock heads, just run it on a 112+2.

the 228r cam is a great DD cam.consider new lifters and trays, and new trunnion bearings for the stock GM rockers.get a ls2 timing chain.check Texas Speed for a cam pkg and install kit.you can get a mail order tune from frost .

Yea I've got pacesetter LT's that I'm putting on as soon as I find the right shop to install true duals. I was just thinking about a cam that would give me a little bit more power/fun, nothing too big that would kill my gas mileage. TSP has some awesome packages so I just gotta research some more about cams and figure out whats best for me.
