Well first of all does it have a LS6 cam ? While it is possible , its not likely you have LS6 stuff. There are other ways to tell if you do have LS6 valves, the LS6 had a smaller base circle so the LS6 valve was .0236 taller . So to do this install correctly on a LS1 or aftermarket cam they should have installed push rods 7.375 length. Just pull a push rod and check it . If they didn't change the length, over time it will be a bit noisy.

I ended up with 7.4" pushrods on the last LS6 I built with a 228R cam. Been in my race car for a year and no excessive noise coming from them.

How many miles or hours do have on that build ?

Not sure, I sold the car early this season though I see the kid regularly. Had around 35 race hours on it when I sold it in June.

Its very likely your 228R cam, doesnt have the smaller base circle like the ls6 cam, so thats why your 7.4 pushrods are fine.
