383 - What's Biggest Cam That Can Pass Sniffer?
I know a 224 on a 114 is generally considered the limit for a 346.
What about for a 383 stroker?
I was thinking a 236 in a 383 stroker would be about the same as a 224 in a 346 is that reasonable?
In any case a 229 in a 383 should pass with a good tune & cats shouldn't it?
Thanks

Pro Stock John once mentioned a "12 degrees per 100 cubes" rule of thumb to try, I think - try searching a bit in the FI section, I think. I can't recall what number per 100ci it was.
With about half that cube increase, I guess a 230/230 on 114 might be similar?
No idea, just a guess...

It has to do with idle quality. Bigger motors can run more cam without misfires at idle.
I think a 236/236 on 114LSA would pass easily with tuning and proper idle speed/timing changes in a 383 with good cats
