Default lifter tray bolt -

2005 LS6 lifter tray bolt.
would there be an issue using a generic bolt from a bolt supply warehouse?
Is this a special specific item?

I inquire due to no one having this bolt available.

I believe it is 8mm x 1.0, it is a metric shoulder bolt.

I would read this before using a hardware bolt, even though it will probably work fine..

It is a shoulder bolt and not meant to "squeeze" the plastic lifter tray into the block. You need a shoulder bolt, which you can get aftermarket, but not from a local store. If you have one of the GM bolts, measure it and check McMaster-Carr otherwise I would get it from GM.

Doesn't SDPC have any in stock?

Would the bolt that is used to hold the pickup tube to the oil pump be the same? I dont have any of the lifter tray bolts to compare. (I need all 4).
Not one dealership in Canada has any, was told they have to order from US.
Jegs etc have a month wait on the bolt (none in stock).

I was hoping not to spend 50 bucks on quick shipment for 4 bolts.
Texas-speed has them on their site, though not sure if they have any on hand.

I was really hoping I could just walk into a bolts supply warehouse type business...

any salvage yards in the area? I would try there if possible, believe most LS motors use the same bolt, so it does not have to be off an LS1 etc......not the same bolt used from the pickup tube to the oil pump.

Unfortunately these bolts are special enough that you need the GM part. They are small though and will fit in the USPS Priority Mail. One other option, look for some guys who have gone to link bar lifters and see if they want to sell the bolts. Maybe you can find someone in Canada that has done this as a lot of guys have gone that route. Also, not sure of your actual location, but if you are close to the border can you drive across and get them from a US dealer?

Thanks everyone, I found a US company that had them...

Border drive is a few hours, and then its Montana. (long ways to dealership)

Rare to find LS anything in a salvage yard around here.
