Default hard times in my turbo build up...

well ive been collecting parts and getthing things around to do a full turbo build on my GTO

i had a shop take my Ls6 block, do all the machine work and assemble the short block with the stock crank eagle rods and wiseco pistons. all new bearing s got put in including cam bearings,

finally at a stage where everything can go back together i go to stab the cam and goin through the 1st bearing, the cam was fairly tight. i was thinking thats not good, continue to the second bearing and th cam feels like it is wedging in the bearing so i pull it out and that takes more force then it ever should.

so i am thinking at this point i have bearing or cam issues.. i decided to find a used factory cam to see if it will go in to tell me if its maybe just the stupid comp cam.

the used cam does go in.. but again it required more force then it should . but i went in with out too much effort.. put wont spin. and wont pull out. had to tap lightly to get it to come out...

once i got it out there was metal shavings all over it. again it did not take much pressure to get it to slide in. but more then is should i feel with new bearings and light lube.

so here i am having to do a tear down to get new cambearings fit and everything gone through again being there is metal shavings and not really comfortable with the work the shop did..

Bummer. A good machine shop would have asked for your cam up front so they could check the fit in the bearings and tweak as necessary.

It doesn't sound like a tough fix though......
