I ended up doing more than I planned. Since the motor was out, I figured I'll get the 241s CNCd, stock valves. Along with the cam, I'm pleased with the results.

Chuckle; while reading your original post I remember thinking, "he'll do more it's in his DNA." 28* timing...we'd need to swap to e85 to do that here. It's like "free" HP over there. I dream of 98 Octane unleaded.
.There are areas where I could spend $$ and gain a few horses, but that is not the purpose of that setup. I mainly made use of a bunch of parts I had laying around (except for cam and car LOL).
On a stalled 3600 A4, below 3000 is negligible.
