It seems like I have to add a half a quart every so often. Just wondering if something is wrong with my car or if its normal and if so, why? Thanks.

it seems you do more posting than reading. there are hundreds of threads/post on this subject, that have been going on for years. It's an LS1 thing

Define "every so often". I was told by a dealer 1 quart useage for every 1000 miles is well within specs for this engine. Mine (as does many LS1's) use more oil under heavy use such as the track. I've run 6 full quarts in mine at all times, it will lose a couple of hp, but consider it insurance. If you run it less than 4 quarts you will see you oil pressure drop at WOT (mine did at the track). If the car is under warranty, call the dealer and report excessive oil consumption. They will need to document it.

I guess it depends on how you drive it, Mine doesn't have a problem at all using oil after trip to florida and back oil level is where it was. over 4k miles without any usage.

Mine doesn't use at all, only when I run it hard it uses about 1 quart between oil changes. I ran about 10 runs to 125+mph between a couple of weeks and it drank about a quart, so all in all not too bad

They all do it to some extent. Mine burns 1 quart per 100 miles if I keep my foot in it. 1 every 300 if i'm just cruising.
