Exclamation is this motor look good ?

bought this 15,000 mile motor from a local came with complete motor when i started tearing it down im not sure what a fresh motor is supposed to look like since mine is 140,000 miles lolol here are a few pics and i compare my motor vs the other one in the final 2 pictures because i notice the new one is different maybe becuase its a earlier year? ones a 98 corvette and the other is a 00 camaro

4th pic down....is that a different piston or just the flash? Looks like a dished lq4 piston vs the flattop next to it.

Yeah that def looks like a dished LQ4 piston... not a good sign if theres one mismatched piston in there.

I thought the same thing.
So now the question why was that one piston replaced, and why the hell! Would someone not put in a matching piston. I would not run that motor with a mismatched piston. Since you have it apart already just get new pistons, or at least swap that one out to match the others.

The motor looks good, but because of that piston i would go thru everything and make sure you dont have surprises in there.

Looks like it's just the camera flash to me. The dot on top of a LQ4 piston is on top the edge of the piston not partially in the dish and on the outer edge like the picture appears. I think its fine. Just a optical illusion

It's the same pistons it's just the flash it's hard to get a picture without flash messing it up lol but the only thing that worrys me is looking where the cam goes its different for both motors mine at the very back is complete circle but on the new on it looks like a half a circle
