Stroker Kit
Need to get a new Crank and rods for my car, and think makes the most sense to look at getting a 383 kit. Anyone have any recommendations for what to get? I have been look at TSP and they seem to have a good kit for not to much. Currently have their Stg 2.5 LS6 heads, TV3 cam and a Fast92/92. Looking to get as close to 500 RWHP as possible. Thanks

383 can be a strong engine and plenty of people run them, but if you are going to build a 383 right - then it will probably cost about the same to do a 408 iron block.
either way, plan on about $700-1k for block machining and $3000 for parts. Here is my build list. My LM7 block for $400 was actually an entire engine, you could likely find a good 6.0 block for that price.
are you looking to do the work yourself? Do you have the tools already?

I have a 383 with PRC 5.3 2.5 stage heads, 244/250 .612/.595 112+2, Fast 92/92 ported and before my intake upgrade I dynoed 432/431 so i'm thinking maybe 450ish rwhp. I need to do a head upgrade and would like to see closer to 500rwhp. And this winter get Nitrous installed and do a 200 shot would love to see 650 RWHP but we will see......

I'd be lying if I said I'd be happy with 450rwhp. I would be hoping for at least 475. I guess depends on the dyno, car got up to 408rwhp at like 5700 before oil pressure went bad. Seems like the Texas speed kit may be best for the money

Like it has already been stated. You can get a 408 or not much more in money. The machine work is pretty much the same other than boring the cylinders. The parts and rotating assembly are the same. The cost of the block and the fact that you would have an iron block instead of aluminum are the only real draw backs.
