Cam size help and Parts list
I'm thinking of the TSP 233/239 .595/.603 with springs and harder pushrods (7.375 or 7.4"?)
Stuck on rather single or dual valve springs?
Oil pump? A must? And which one?
And I'm guessing a stall will be required? And Size with stock gears, 3.23s. Thinking 3000-3200??
Tune, duh?
Stock injectors should be fine, correct?
What else?
This is a weekend car, not DD or Race car. Still want to be able to drive through downtown and not worry about anything.

you need to run a double spring with that cam. You will most likely need a 7.400 pushrod. Its always good to measure though.
A Melling high pressure or a ported ls6 would both work just fine.
You need a 3200 stall for that cam.
Tuning is a must.
Ls2 chain will also work just fine.

I heard you have to mill soem of your timing cover to run a melling?
A 3200 sounds good, and now to find a tuner.

Go to Tick Performance and get a Stage 2 or Stage 3 TorqueMax cam. Newer lobes from Comp - not the XE-R lobes from a decade ago that beat the **** out of your valvetrain. Plus, the 233/239 is on a 112+0. That's going to produce no bottom end on an otherwise stock motor. You want something in the 227/235 110 range like the Stage 2 from Tick.
Or, if you want to spend a little more, talk to Geoff @ EPS and get something custom ground using EPS lobes. The 226/234 111 or so would make for a nice street car.
I'd also run 11/32nd pushrods, BTR Platinum Dual Springs, Melling Oil Pump + Katech C5R Chain or the SLP Double Chain + Ported Pump combo.
Stall - Talk to Chris @ CircleD. The 3C or 4C would work well for you in the 3600-3800 range.

The same board ******, always come into peoples threads and instead of answering their questions, try to push their opinions on people. I can tell you first hand you can make great power from the 233/239 and still retain great drivability. If that's the cam you want to run it, run it. If not, don't. That cam has been used countless times without issues. I myself used it in a daily driver low 11 sec 6speed car for a good 20k miles without issues. Not bragging, just pointing out it can be done. Good springs, good geometry, and good oil is key. Of course their are other cams out there that can also make good power. Its about your whole setup, not just the cam.

The TSP website indicates that your cam can use with beehive or double valve springs. Additionally, the Comp Cam catalog indicates that similar cams (in terms of duration and lift) with XER lobes should use Comp 921 valve springs. Comp 921 valve springs have a spring rate of 408 pounds and an open spring pressure of 400 pounds. I may be wrong, but I would not expect a cam that can be controlled with beehive valve springs, or double valves springs with 400 pounds of open spring pressure to be all that devastating to the rest of the valvetrain.
