Default what cam?

I'm starting my set up. I have longtube all ready but I need to know what cam I wanted. I want to keep my stock heads for awhile. I plan on boosting it later. So what kind of cam can I run

I'd say go for the 228r or something very similar. Group that with a 3600 stall and you will have a nice streetable package. Get the headers and converter before the cam.

And will it be pretty quick? I want it to be very streetable but also want it to be pretty fast for a daily driver.

Yea you want something in the 224-228 cam range...I'm running a comp xer273 which is 224/230 which would be good for you as most of the time turbo cars run extra exhaust duration...you will still need a tune for a cam in the Range I listed

Look at Martin @ Tick's TorqueMax Stage 2. Medium cams like that are fast because you har lots of useable power under the curve.

Max power and daily driver don't go together.

You have to give up some streetability for power and vice versa.

Plus having stock heads keeps your compression less than ideal. And compression helps big cams drive better.

Stay at or below 8 degrees of overlap. You can daily drive that.

Lots of cams fit that.

Pretty much in the 228-232 range with a 113 or 112 LSA would work.

The TSP 228 and the Torquer v2 were good cams back in the day, but the XER lobes are a bit hard on the valvetrain. There are better cams available nowadays that make more power. Seriously look at the Tick Performance cams.

Either the EPS 222/226 or this one here by Tick would suit your needs fine...

Our LS2 SNS Stage 1 camshaft 222/230 .602"/.609" 110+2 would be an awesome DD camshaft with torque for days. I also offer a smaller SNS Stage 1 cam for LS1 engines that is 222/226 .602"/.605" 111+2 that would also be great for a DD.

Something like a TSP Torquer 2 232/234 with a 4k stall. That will be a great setup for a fun street car/ daily driver.
