Default Couple of cam questions

Bought my SS from a kid that had the car for maybe a month. He gave me a list of mods that the previous owner before him did but did not tune it, that's how I got the car, the kid knows nothing. But anyway when asked about what cam is in it............................no clue. How can I found out what cam has been installed? Also can you tune with out knowing what cam you have?

Get the ph# of the guy who did the cam if possible, or get the engraved info of the end of the cam.
Yes you can get it tuned without knowing what cam is in it, that 's not a problem.
Just no mail order tunes.

It would be almost impossible to figure out what cam is in the car without getting the numbers off the cam. Hopefully you can get in contact with the person that did the cam install. How does the car run now?

Runs good, just has a slight rich smell. It hangs idle when reved, cruise control effect, and stalling.... the usual.

check out the injector part numbers ,make sure you have stock injectors if you are running the engine any .you can tune a engine with out knowing the cam .it is all about air fuel ratio ,and exhaust temps.
