Default Hesitation, sputtering under acceleration

My 98 Trans Am has hesitation or sputtering under acceleration. It's worse when you give it about half throttle in lower RPMS, higher RPMS it does it too but not as bad. I poured injector cleaner in the gas tank with no luck, replaced a fuel filter and no codes came up. The check engine light isn't on either. Manual says it could be clogged injectors or ignition timing, ect. The only mod done is a cat-back exhaust. Do I need a "programmer"? Tune up?
Please shed some light on the subject..

How is this the wrong forum?

Might be a missfire, when was the last time you did spark plugs and wires?

Does it idle rough too? If it does what you can do is unplug each spark plug wire from the coil and notice any difference. If it starts running rougher when you pull each one means those are good. If it doesn't make a difference once you pull one off probably means that one wasn't firing anyway.

I just bought the T.A. so I don't know how many miles are on the plugs/wires. I cleaned my MAF sensor last night thinking that might be the problem, we'll see how it goes....

it would be worth to pull out a spark plug and see how it looks.

Part throttle acceleration problems can also be a bad egr valve.

check if your spark plug wires are lose right now.... I had this problem for 8 months and found out 2 of mine were.

I'd check all the obvious plugs , wires etc....but is it a dead miss or intermittent? How many miles? Maybe check fuel psi under acceleration...

The hesitation or lack of power can be/usually is spark blow out. Caused by improperly gapped/worn plugs, bad wires or a dead coil or two. The fueling can be off to but not usually on a stockish car.

Definitely give your plugs and wires a look. I just fixed that almost exact issue a week ago on the car in my sig. Turns out my car doesn't like TR6's and my wires were bad.

For what they cost, i'd just go ahead and replace plugs and wires (Unless you have expensive wires)

I've seen faulty plugs do this before with no visual sign of failure
