It would be a lot more accurate if you give a detailed account of your car and actual mods. There are many Stealth cams, some will fit a certain setup better than others.

89 foxbody gt 4l60e trans with ls1 should weigh 27-3000lb.i seen plenty of camaro t/a etc run 7.0s 1/8 mile @ 32-3400lb with 420-430rwhp so with the same power I should get into the 6s on motor.my goal is to run 10s 1/4 mile and 6.80 or quicker in the 1/8 with a sleeper set up.i will be using kooks 1-7/8 headers.thinking about yank ss4000 or circle d 5c or what ever is needed.it will be street driven not a track car but I want good results.with a ported fast cnc heads and a sleeper cam I don't think that's to much to ask for is it

I was looking in to a stock sounding cam the other day when I found out my LS6 cam is actually a GM hot cam. Need something that doesnt lope (sitting in traffic a lot with this car) but I still want a lot of power from my stock heads. I was actually thinking about running a 230/230 marine lobe (should work with my LS6 springs) on a 116+6. You could run a LxL or LsL lobe with ported heads that flow up at .6xx" plus though. Get as much duration as possible. Listening to Pat's G8, has me believing this will work great, and his was on a 114 ,

You should do good with a 223(lsl)/226(lxl) 116lsa +4 and get the CR up to 11:1 (not higher), this cam will have about -7.5* overlap, valve train should be fairly quiet and with the right(quiet) exhaust and a 800rpm idle and a good tune,it should sound fairly stock. I don't see a problem with it breaking 400hp but I don't know about the 420-430..

If you want that power your going to need duration. Especially with the 5.7, your moving less air. So I don't really understand your comment. His setup nicely demonstrates that a 231/231on a 114 can sound stock to the untrained ear.

Thanks and I still rang it out to 7k rpm as the power didn't drop off. I'd be careful of running a bigger intake lobe on a wide lsa in a smaller motor as a later IVC will just lower DCR and make the power band less useable. Without a lot of overlap it is important to get a clean burn at high rpms with a decent split especially with heads that flow well on the intake side. As mentioned above cats, mufflers, idle speed and engine cubes should all be taken into consideration when comparing youtube videos as they all affect the sound. Also my 422rwhp was done through 4.10 gears as well, which when compared to my dyno with 3.42s they robbed 12rwhp. So it's pretty safe to say it actually made ~435rwhp SAE.

I talked to pat about it he says its not going to sound that mild in a 5.7 it would have more lope

Hey snl performance I really like that cam and my head choice is narrowed down to tfs215 or as cast 220 with fast 92 what could I expect with those heads

If you want something with no lope I would not be considering anything above -10 overlap. If I was in your shoes I would go XFI custom cam with 218/230 on a 118+4. I ran an 11.99 in my 99 auto camaro with just fast 90/90, long tube headers, 4" single exhaust, 4.56 gears, 4500 stall, and skinnies with 275/60/15 mt drag radials nothing touched internal. With the above cam and 243 or 799 heads in a fox body with the same mods the car might hit 10's and depending on muffler setup could sound pretty quiet. I would go with a glasspack as a resonator and a decent sized truck straight through muffler out back.

Let me know what compression you decide on and rpm you plan on shifting at as I'd even tweak it from my specs being they have released more lobes since I speced that cam 5 years ago. Those heads would probably make another 10-15hp over my 220cc intake runner 5.3 heads being they flow better, not considering the compression bump. Mine are not milled and stock head gaskets as I eventually put in a bigger cam. With yours I would run .040" gaskets and smaller than 62cc chambers to maximize DCR.

Keep in mind he's going through a 4l60 and a less efficient rear end too. Those heads flow 80% , I'd probably split it a little bit. Run as big of an LXL lobe that you feel you can tune to keep quiet at idle. Or your tuner. With those heads you could probably hit 360 with a stock cam. I like that 223/226 blu posted on thise heads. When you said cnc'd 5.3's I assumed the worse
