Default 317 heads....are these done or can they be fixed

I apologize in advance as I have very little knowledge relating to machining. Bought a set of 317 heads and when I got them in my hands they look like this. Seems to have some damage the inside perimeter of one of the combustion chambers during shipping.

Can these be fixed with machining? I was planning to boost these heads if that makes any difference.

If these can be fixed will it be an expensive fix?

Thanx in advance

That's a 5 minute fix. Are you planning on milling the heads?

I wasnt planning to but it looks like I might have to...I was planning on using these as they were (OEM) on my 5.3 turbo build. Any chance you could give a rough estimate on what something like this may cost to fix? Will the milling be required due to the damage on the matting surface? There are a few more scratches on the surface but the ones in the picture are by far the worst.

Thanks again.

Its hard to tell the depth but as far as I can tell it probably wouldnt take much to clean that up. Maybe .005 and losing 1cc isnt going to hurt you for most builds. Its much easier to tell in person but I wouldnt be worried. Cost really depends on the shop but if you figure $100.00 to mill them, you would most likely be within $25.00 either direction.

I dont believe its that deep at all but I couldnt even give an estimate. Glad to hear its likely not a big deal to fix these. Yeah I dont mind losing 1 cc at all especially since I am not going for some record breaking build, its really a budget build for me.

Thanks for the estimate on price. I would have been sad to let these go as they were extremely clean besides the damage.

^^ Thanks. I am assuming it will be a bit more since I am in NY but I dont think it would be too much more. I am in no rush to get the build finished so I will take my sweet time and start setting money on the side for this.
