First of all...how much do you want to spend on the heads, or does that not matter?

The Stg IV cam has made 450+ on two engines with stock LS6 heads and intake, so I would be looking for some unmolested 243's or 799's. Good headers and exhaust will also be required to achieve that power level.

The Stg IV cam features great durability and torque production.

price is not so much a factor, i would like to stay around 2000 or less. my plan is to get as close to 500 hp without getting into the bottom end and no power adders. i eventually want to build a 427, but that is way down the road. right now the car has 125,000 miles has LT, with 3" exhaust, fast fuel rails and slp intake. what i would like to do is get a cam, heads, injectors, fast 102mm intake & TB, tuned. Then i will be getting a moser 9" rear and all the suspension upgraded then i will start building the new motor. so it will be a long process. i only have one day off a week so i'd like to get a part list together and start ordering the parts and once i have everything i will start the build so the car is down the least amount of time.

ls7 lifters, ls6 timing chain, hi-flow oil pump, valve springs with titanium retainers, push rods and injectors. is there anything else should have to upgrade when doing a cam install?

which head is going to be a better for this cam? I've heard a lot about 243's but not 799's. this is all new to me im a diesel mechanic so this is a different world. also what size injectors do you recommend?

The 243 and 799 heads have the same ports, the 799 has sand cast chambers so they're just slightly rougher, but should make the same power.

I like the Bosch 36 lb/hr white injectors for what you're doing. They're also sold under Fast and are in stock.

A cam as large as the MS4 isnt necessary to hit 450rwhp heads and full bolt-ons, but it can do the job and should exceed it. Take a look at our As-Cast heads. They will out perform our 243's as they sit and every set is hand blended. For the money they are pretty tough to beat and you get all the benefits of an aftermarket casting.
