Default 5.3 2012 heads porting ? cost

i have a 2002 formula. I can get a set of complete heads for $400, 32k on them, i plan on headers and ls6 type cam and dyno tune. My question is this a good price or should i look for 243.s What could realalistly expect for hp with this ? thanks

What casting number is on the heads? If it isn't 243 or 799, $400 is a ripoff.

That's a pretty good price for low mile heads. They are basically the same thing as 243s.

Slim chance it sucked water, but I don't think it would hurt anything in the cylinder head.

Not sure how much it was flooded, but disassemble the heads and check them over. Valve springs, retailers, etc. will rust if in water long enough. Flood can mean many things. Up to the floors or submerged. Won't affect the casting but could affect other parts in the heads.

I'd say it's a good deal. Take them for porting and a valve job just to be safe.

With a LS6 cam it would be a struggle, I would look for something a little bigger and it would easily hit your goal.

I called a local shop that builds race engines, asked about a port job between the mac porting and half way. The price was around 600 to 800, is this decently priced for a quality job?
