Help!! Need advice on Ls1 Camshaft
Hello!!
I'm currently looking to install a camshaft in my 03 Vette. It's an Ls1 M6. The car has a full exhaust and a blackwing intake. I'd like to retain my stock 3.42 gear ratio. Any advice on a few cams that would be ideal for good under the curve power through out the rpm band with this gear ratio would be appreciated. I'm not very savvy when it comes to camshaft selection. I'd like to throw down around 450 rwhp.

Thanks for all the input...
I plan on swapping out the heads to PRC's stage 2.5 LS6 Cylinder Heads. I will probably keep the LS6 intake manifold. I am not opposed to swapping rear gears to a 3.73's or maybe 3.90's, it just seems like a PITA and rather expensive compared to the solid rear axle f-bodys. I also had an irritating experience with my old 95 Z28, I had put 4.10's in the rear and had issues from major whining to the pinion nut coming loose constantly and that was the main reason behind not wanting to screw with the gears again.

I'd stay with a cam in the 220s range as a general guideline. Mid 220s cams with a good set of heads can make ignorant midrange power. That's good usable power for frequent driving.

My LS1 with a 228R performs great with a manual and 3.73s. I drive my car everyday. I can't imagine having any less low end power.

Thanks for the advice. Is that an off the shelf cam you offer? What could I expect from a cam with those specs.
I also have a buddy who needs his T56 rebuilt. I recommended he look into Tick Performance. How long does it usually take for you to rebuild and ship it back?

Alright. If i were to say go with there 228/232 .646/.646 112+4
I would think I would get a little more chop due to more overlap and I would also think that I would get the power lower in the rpm band than with the 113+4.
Is that correct in your opinion?

I think they would "sound" about the same, plus with stock rockers I heard they like to scrub (sideways push/pull) the valve tip at around 620ish~. I generally think staying under 625 lift with a non-roller rocker is a good idea for longevity.
