Default Crankshaft Pilot Bearing

I just got my LS1 together and was checking the torque converter pilot fit to the crankshaft and have a problem. The pilot barely goes into the end of the crank, the crank appears to have a large steel bushing or adapter in it that will not budge (tried pulling with a home made puller and also the old fill with grease and a socket routine) I bought the crank used so I have no idea what it was out of and its all together so I cant get the casting number either. Here is a picture of it.

Anyone ever see anything like this and does this come out?

Thanks

Buddy of mine had an idea to drill some 1/8" holes starting at the outer edge of the bushing. Worked like a charm it relieved the pressure and it practically fell out.

Rent a blind hole puller and slide hammer. Be careful using the old school grease/socket trick on LS engines. There's a freeze plug in the back of the crank and can be pressed in far enough where it will leak oil.

Autozone has pullers you can rent to yank that baby out...hit it hard with some penetrating oil as well

You can clearly see the lip at the base. I've never seen a pilot bushing look like that but I'm not a big M6 guy. If its obstructing the converter hub it must be removed.
