As the title implies, what do you think is the best way to go. Planning to do heads and cam on my 2002 Z06. Cam is 228/230 .571/.573 112 lsa

I'm not an expert, but for what it's worth my 2002 vette has the PRC 2.5 LS6 heads and a very similar cam (tsp 228r) and the combo made, what I feel to be, very respectable numbers. More details in my garage.

FWIW in 2009 I put a set of Patriot Stage 2 (GM casting 243) on my 413 because I was out of funds for the year. With a EPS cam .239 .259 .624 .624 112 lsa, a Yank PT4000, Fast 90/90, 1-3/4 LT's I made 526 RWHP and 490 lb. ft. torque. I would agree there are better heads to choose from but if the price is right and if it compliments your set up then don't be afraid.

C'mon guys every manufacture has some issues.
Yes, Patriot is no longer in business but
the product in question is GM material that
was CNC'd by them.
Go with Trick Flow that's where I'm going for Phase II
on my Bird.
Good luck.

We actually used to sell Patriot heads and seeing the downfalls to those heads it is what prompted us to create or own PRC line to offer a quality budget aftermarket casting without all of the hassles. That's not to say that some good Patriot castings aren't out there and work well. That being said we can sell you our new stage 1 LS6 castings, fully assembled, leak tested, and have the peace of mind that if you need to reach someone on a question we can still be reached. Plus we can also mill those heads for you at no extra cost to match the cam that you have in your car to help bump that compression up as well. Feel free to give us a call and I'd be happy to discuss this further with you and see what we can offer you based on your budget and goals.
Thanks,
Lonnie
